The rugs were part of a large-scale commission for a hotel in Mallorca, curated by ABA Art Lab and hand painted by Zoe Clipsham. Zoe came up with several different designs with variations on the theme, the Mediterranean.
Citrus fruits, such as lemons and oranges, grow in abundance throughout the Mediterranean, making them synonymous with the lifestyle. Zoe made sure to use them as reoccurring imagery throughout the series.
Messy brush strokes, mixed in with warm and cool tones adorn the rugs, specifically commissioned for the upcoming hotel.
